Minneapolis is investigating a fire that broke out at a homeless encampment overnight.
It happened just before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when fire crews were called to a report of exploding propane tanks near an encampment in the 2400 block of 15th Avenue South, and a fire that had spread to a neighboring single-family home.
When teams arrived they found several tents fully engulfed in flames and the siding on a another neighboring home was beginning to melt.
Homeless encampment and residential residents were evacuated on a Metro Transit bus. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
