The controversial head of Minneapolis' police union says he will retire. Reports indicate Lieutenant Bob Kroll, president of the Minneapolis Police Federation, sent a letter to union members indicating that he will step down at the end of the month. Kroll says he had intended to retire in May, which would have marked 25 years on the union board. But he says in light of the bigger picture, and in his family's best interest, he'll be done at the end of January.
In response to the news, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey posted this to his Facebook account:
News Talk 830 WCCO has reached out to Kroll for comment, but has not heard back from him on this matter.
