The Minneapolis Textile Center is hosting its 3rd annual "Slow Fashion Sale" Friday and Saturday.

Walking into the back room at the textile center, there are rows and rows of handmade clothes: dresses, hand knit sweaters, scarves.

It's all part of this Slow Fashion Sale.

"Everything in here was donated by members of our community, and all of it was either made by them or someone they know," says Erin Husted who is the operations manager. "It's probably tripled in size from our first year, our first year we were in our smallest classroom and now we needed two rooms. Yeah, and it's we've been really busy today. It's been a lot of fun."

She says in the three years they've held the sale, it's tripled in size, attracting all kinds of customers, including a local actor and singer.

"So I like one-of-a-kind things that nobody else is going to be wearing," he says.

This is the place, if you're looking for those unique, special pieces of clothing or accessories.

Hustad says it's really grown in popularity, thanks to things like handmade dresses, sweaters and scarves, and also some up-cycled goods.

The sale, which began Saturday, runs through Saturday at the Minneapolis Textile Center on University Avenue in Southeast Minneapolis.

They are open both Friday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Entry is free and open to the public. Prices will range from $5- $75.
