Minnesota surpasses 2,000 COVID-19 deaths

2,004 people have died as MDH reports 24-hour high in positive cases

Minnesota reached a grim milestone Saturday as the Minnesota Department of Health reported 10 more deaths from COVID-19 putting the state at 2,0004 total fatalities.

Along with surpassing 2,000 deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic, the state also reported its highest number of positive cases in a 24-hour period with 1,478.

In total, 95,659 Minnesotans have tested positive for the virus.

Six of the 10 deaths reported Saturday are from individuals living in long-term care or assisted living facilities.
