A Minnesota native is among the Americans killed in Ukraine at the hands of the Russian military.
Witnesses say people were standing in line for bread yesterday morning in the town of Chernihiv when Russian troops opened fire.
It's not known how many were killed, but one of them was 68-year-old James Hill, who graduated from Mahtomedi High School.
Hill documented the last few days of street fighting in Ukraine on his Facebook page.
He was a psychologist and lecturer who worked in Europe for 25 years, many of them in Ukraine.
"The biggest thing that we're struggling with right now is not even knowing where his body is," said his sister Katya Hill, who lives in Pittsburgh
"After he said he had no way to charge his phone, then I knew it was just a matter of, are we going to hear that he's in Poland safe, or are we going to get the news that we didn't want to hear," she said.
There are reports that Hill was trapped inside the hospital, and had left the building to gather food and water for others.
