A shooting Saturday morning left an 18-year-old woman dead and a 13-year-old boy injured in Minneapolis.

Investigators said that a gun reportedly went off during a fight inside a north Minneapolis residence on the 3600 Block of Dupont. Police found the 18-year-old woman with a life-threatening gunshot wound and the 13-year-old boy with a non life-threatening gunshot wound.

It's believed that both injuries were caused by the same bullet.

Victims were taken to the hospital where the woman died. The 13-year-old is expected to survive.

The mother, a 39-year-old, was taken into custody and a gun was recovered at the scene.

Investigators believe that the mother got into a verbal argument with her children before the single shot was fired. It's unknown whether or not the shot was accidental or intentional.

Police reportedly said this marked the 11th homicide of the year in Minneapolis.
