The Minnesota State High School League shifted course Thursday by announcing they will in fact allow fans at indoor events. Originally, the MSHSL announced fans would not be permitted at indoor events like volleyball, hockey, or basketball due to COVID-19 concerns.
According to the MSHSL, indoor events where 12 feet can't be maintained between participants and spectators, the participants must be included in the total capacity count. If 12 feet can be maintained, participants won't need to be factored into the capacity count.
As is the case for outdoor events like football or soccer, no indoor venue may exceed a capacity of 250 spectators per guidelines set by the Minnesota Department of Health.
