Upwards of 5 inches of snow fell across the Twin Cities on Tuesday night, with higher totals reported north of the metro, including 10.1 inches of snow near Brainerd.

The latest snow storm proved to be once again tricky for motorists across the state. The Minnesota State Patrol reported over 450 crashes and spinouts throughout the day.

According to the state patrol, there were 280 crashes on Minnesota roads, 23 of which resulted in injuries with one serious injury in Nobles County.

184 vehicle spinouts and 15 jackknifed semi-trucks were reported. All of those instances happened between 7 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The good news from the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities is the rest of the week appears to be relatively quiet.
