A shooting early Monday morning left one man dead and a woman injured in south Minneapolis.

Minneapolis Police responded to a shooting at Lake Street and 12th Avenue South just after midnight. One man died at the scene and the woman who was hospitalized is expected to survive.

Police hadn't announced any arrests and the medical examiner will release the identity of the man who died. Police don't believe the shooting is related to another shooting that happened about a mile west on Lake Street on Sunday morning that gravely injured a man.

The deadly shooting comes after two people were shot and killed early Sunday in Minneapolis' Dinkytown neighborhood.

Police said the shooting happened at around 2:15 a.m. at Royal Cigar and Tobacco shop on the 400 block of 14th Street Southeast. An altercation between two people turned deadly. At least one employee was injured by gunfire and is expected to survive.

No one has been arrested in that incident.
