One is dead and another wounded in a shooting that happened early Sunday morning in St. Paul's Grand Avenue area.
Police were called to the eight-hundred block of Grand Avenue at 3:30 a.m., and two men were found in the street with gunshot wounds.
One died at the scene, the other was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
There are no arrests.
"We're still pretty early on in this," said St. Paul police spokesman Steve Linders. "We haven't identified the victim yet, and we're not releasing a lot of details about this at this point because, right now, there's a family out there who's lost a loved one."
The crime scene is right in the heart of the business and entertainment district of Grand Avenue.
Among the notable businesses in that block of Grand Avenue are Billy's On Grand, Cafe Latte, and Trade Winds Fashions.
This is the 25th reported homicide of the year in St. Paul; a year ago at this time, that number was 21.
