It's been 90 days since the city of Minneapolis implemented the new public safety strategy Operation Endeavor.
In a report released Monday, city data showed a continued decline in gun activity, relative to the same time last year and in the time immediately before Operation Endeavor was implemented.
"Look, anything that's headed south in the numbers is a win, right?" Minneapolis community safety commissioner Cedric Alexander told WCCO's Al Schoch.
Gun related calls for service dropped 38 percent, gun shot wound victims declined by 30 percent, and carjackings fell 65 percent from the same time frame last year, according to the report.
City officials now say Operation Endeavor will evolve into a second stage to better engage business and community groups, with Alexander said will come within the next 30 to 60 days.
"And here again, that's if we change anything drastically," Alexander said. "That will give me an opportunity to make some decisions around who it is I need at the table with me, how we're progressing."
