Osseo Schools has settled a sexual harassment case involving an assistant principal.
The district has agreed to a $61,000 settlement with the state and the parents of a 9-year-old student who was sexually harassed by an assistant principal during the 2021-2022 school year.
The Minnesota Department of Human Rights announced the settlement after finding the district violated state civil rights law by failing to act on credible harassment reports, which ultimately led the parents to pull the girl out of the district.
The Department of Human Rights will continue to monitor Osseo Area Schools for the next five years.
The name of the school and the assistant principal involved have not been released.
