Protests that spilled onto I-94 near Riverside in Minneapolis Wednesday night resulted in 646 individuals getting cited and released by the Minnesota State Patrol and Minneapolis Police Department.
Hundreds representing multiple groups and interests from Black Lives Matter, socialists, labor, immigrants rights and more, marched during the night and demanded that every vote be counted.
According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, I-94 was closed between I-35W and Hwy. 280 when protestors entered the freeway. The road reopened at 1:23 a.m.
Under Minnesota law, it is illegal for pedestrian, bicycle or non-motorized traffic to be on the freeway.
According to the news release, no force or chemicals were used and no protestors or law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.
