Roseville police say a suspected shooter is dead after a police officer was shot in the line of duty on Tuesday night.
The shooting happened as officers responded around 7:30 p.m. to the 2900 block of Owasso Boulevard on reports of gunfire coming from a residence. A suspect reportedly fired more shots when police arrived. One officer was struck and was taken to an area hospital.
Shortly after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Roseville police reported that the suspect, a 53-year-old white male from Roseville, had died.
The officer remained in the hospital with a serious gunshot injury as of early Wednesday morning.
More information is expected to be released throughout the day on Wednesday.
