Burnsville High School was placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon after there were reports of a weapon in the school, according to authorities.
The Burnsville Police Department has responded to the school with officers on the campus, according to a tweet from the department.
The tweet also shared that no injuries have been reported from the weapon being on campus so far.
Everyone has been encouraged to stay away from the area, as officers are working to ensure everyone in the school is safe.
When calling the high school for comment, callers are directed to a voicemail that confirms the school is on lockdown.
"Police are at the school at this time to search and secure the facility," the voicemail says. "All students and staff members are safe. Parents should not come to the school to pick up students at this time. We will share more information when we have it."
