Protestors gather in St. Paul upset at the Trump administration and Elon Musk over government cuts, tariffs and Ukraine

Hundreds of people voiced frustration and anger at President Donald Trump at the Minnesota State Capitol on Tuesday.

It's all organized by the 5051 movement, which stands for 50 states, 50 Protests, One Movement.

"We will take back the dignity of public service and assume the mantle of action for ourselves," said organizer Zach Lindstrom. "We will fight in St. Paul, and we will fight in Washington. We will fight in the courts and we will fight in the streets."

Trump will speak to Congress Tuesday night about the tariffs being imposed on Mexico and Canada that could lead to a potential trade war between the countries.

The protests were anti-Trump but also anti-Elon Musk, the billionaire advisor who runs the non-Cabinet Department of Government Efficiency, charged with cutting billions from the U.S. Government's budget.

It's just one of multiple protests scheduled all week at state capitols across the country.

"We must not only resist, but create, not only vote, but organize, not only dream, but fight to make those dreams come true," Lindstrom told activists.

Another 'day of action' is planned by the same group of organizers for this Saturday, also scheduled to take place at the State Capitol in St. Paul. The organizers are describing the Saturday, March 8 gather to be the ‘main event' with more of an agenda, guest speakers and other organization that was not part of Tuesday's event.

President Donald Trump will address both chambers of Congress for the first time since he started his second term Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m.

Here’s what you can expect from the speech which will be live on 830 WCCO or the Audacy app.
