A really "Wicked" singing spectacle is coming to a theater near you!
The hit movie musical "Wicked Part One" will be extending its theatrical run with a series of sing-along screenings on Monday over the holidays.
Film programmer with Minneapolis' independent Main Cinema Kelly Natche explained what is happening.
"The true fans are seeing it more than once," she says. "It's great. We have a lot of people that are coming back or who have seen it other places but are coming back for Mondays to be able to do this. And they always come out of the theater just laughing and, you know, just so happy."
But, these special screenings won't be available everywhere in the Twin Cities and fans are encouraged to check local listings and ticket websites for more details.
"We knew that the studio was going to be releasing an actual sing-along version, but not until around Christmas," says Natche. "So we thought we would create Monday nights for people to come and sing their hearts out. And it's been kind of popular. It's been fun."
The Main started their sing-alongs this Monday, and will continue each Monday as long as they're showing the film.
A wider release of the sing-along version of the movie will be released by the studio after Christmas.
