Up to 9 inches of snow fell in parts of the Twin Cities metro area on Tuesday as a snow storm dumped the second-largest snowfall in October since the 1991 Halloween blizzard.
Officially, 7.4 inches of snow fell at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
The October snow blast led to rough roadways Tuesday. 493 crashes were reported between 11 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.
48 of the wrecks involved injuries including 1 serious injury near Motley.
