Minnesota Congressman Jim Hagedorn (R) says he is battling cancer for a second time.
In a press release, Hagedorn says a recent visit to the Mayo Clinic determined that his kidney cancer has returned. The Republican who represents Minnesota's First Congressional District was first diagnosed with stage IV kidney cancer in February of 2019.
Hagedorn says the new diagnosis is surprising, considering he was cancer-free just 14 weeks ago. He says his doctors said his response to treatment after his first diagnosis was exceptional, and that he plans to continue to fight for America and serve the people of Minnesota with the "highest level of energy and enthusiasm."
Hagedorn is married to Jennifer Carnahan, chairwoman of the Minnesota GOP.
