Former Hennepin County Sheriff and current Minnesota Republican gubernatorial candidate Rich Stanek is recovering following a car crash Tuesday night in Buffalo.
The Minnesota State Patrol says Stanek was pulling out of a church parking lot at 8:32 p.m. when he collided with a northbound vehicle on Highway 25.
Both Stanek, 60, and the driver of the other vehicle, a 44-year-old woman from Clearwater, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
No alcohol was involved and both drivers were wearing their seatbelts, according to the report.
A campaign spokesperson for Stanek said Wednesday night that Stanek is expected to be discharged from the hospital on Thursday.
