There were new raids at a couple of locations in the Twin Cities that reportedly involve more allegations of Medicaid fraud on Thursday.
Agents of Attorney General Keith Ellison's office say his Medicaid Fraud Control Unit executed search warrants Thursday morning in conjunction with agents from the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The raids took place in two locations. One of the businesses targeted was ISCA Inc. That is an autistic center in St. Louis Park.
WCCO's Ari Bergeron reports a window was broken at the center. All he was told at the site was that this occurred earlier Thursday morning, and that no one was hurt and no one was arrested.
The other raid took place at Bright Horizon Therapy Center in Edina.
In a statement, the Minnesota Department of Human Services said they are tracking the local federal law enforcement activity.
"Collaboration between local, state and federal authorities is essential to fighting fraud and stopping criminal schemes," DHS says. "When we see evidence of fraud, we shut off money and refer suspected criminals to law enforcement. We are thankful to see criminals being held accountable."
There are no reports yet of arrests, or any charges that have been filed in connection to these raids.
Last year, a report called a number of state's Medicaid-funded programs “high risk” for fraud.
The searches come ahead of a fraud-focused visit from Vice President JD Vance on Friday. Vance and members of the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud will be holding a news conference in St. Cloud.
