Officials with the St. Peter police department say a man who escaped from the state sex offender treatment facility in St. Peter has been taken into custody in Missouri.
Authorities say 53-year-old Steven Loren Edwards left the grounds Saturday, and say he was spotted in Albert Lea before the capture.
Police say he was last seen at the prison on Friday night, and was wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants, and black tennis shoes.
Details of the arrest are not released.
Last week, a sex offender was tracked down less than a day after escaping from the same facility in St. Peter.
45-year-old Beau-Jacob Zimmer was captured on May 9, about 5 1/2 hours after he was reported missing.
Police thanked a citizen who contacted them after spotting Zimmer on the west side of St. Peter.
