A shooting at a prayer service in Shakopee leaves one person dead.

Shakopee police say they were called to scene about 10:00 a.m. Wedneday and found a 26-year-old man who had been shot multiple times.

The man was rushed to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment, but has since died.

The Samaha Islamic Center was hosting an Eid Al-Adha prayer service at the center. There's no word yet on what led up to the shooting, and police have not yet made any arrests.

"Shakopee PD quickly assessed the situation and determined there was no additional threat to public safety," reads a statement Canterbury Park. "We extend our deepest sympathies to the victim and his loved ones. The Canterbury Park Casino remains open for business and live racing will resume as planned this weekend on Saturday and Sunday."

The Executive Director of the Council on Islamic Relations did tell WCCO Radio they do not believe it to be a hate crime.

"We are actively working to identify the involved individuals," police said in a statement. "Anyone with information should contact Shakopee Police Department at 952-445-1411."
