Snow early Wednesday morning covered roads across central and eastern MN, including the Twin Cities metro setting up for a tricky morning commute in many spots.
According to MnDOT, a slushy mixture covered many roads across the Twin Cities and outside the metro causing a number of spin outs and crashes in the early morning hours.
WCCO Radio meteorologist Paul Douglas says there could be a brief break in the slow moving storm on Wednesday, but not for long.
A winter storm warning is still in effect across most of western and northern Minnesota where the heaviest snowfall is expected, while a winter weather advisory is in effect until noon for the Twin Cities.
Wet snow is expected to resume Thursday with 4 to 7 inches, and even up to 8 inches in the north metro.
Just over two feet of snow could fall in Duluth, while Grand Marais may see upwards of four feet by Friday afternoon.
