The U announcing yesterday that Bob Motzko's 20-year-old son died in a Saturday night vehicle crash in the west metro.
There are still few details on the crash that killed Mack Motzko and one other person.
It happened in Orono, with the 51-year-old driver suffering critical injuries when the car veered off the road and struck several trees.
Investigators believe speed and alcohol contributed to the crash. So far, charges are not filed.

In a statement, the University called it an unimaginable tragedy.
Many members of the hockey community displayed hockey sticks outside of their homes last night in silent tribute to the lives lost.
Mack Motzko played prep hockey at St. Cloud Cathedral and moved to Minnetonka when his father was hired to coach the Gophers in 2018.
He returned to Cathedral for his senior season, and played junior hockey at Sioux Falls and New Mexico.
