St. Paul is hosting the 25th annual Twin Cities Jazz Festival this weekend. While the two main stages will be set up near Mears Park, JazzFest founder Steve Heckler says the smooth sounds will be everywhere.
"We partner with many of the area venues in Lowertown and all throughout St. Paul," Heckler says. "All the way from Mancini's to MetroNOME, to TPT, and so it's kind of a walking event. You're at the event, you kind of just want to walk around the city, experience different jazz, different music."
In fact, 15 venues are part of the event Friday and Saturday in and around St. Paul. The entire event is free, but they do rely on donations.
"So we have the main stage at Mears Park, and then we have a lot of dance staging, so if you like to dance and come out, we have dance lessons with New Orleans type of music, salsa music," explains Heckler.
