St Paul Police are investigating the overdose death of a 1-year child on Christmas Day.
Officers found the child unresponsive shortly after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 1000 block of 5th St. E.
The child was transported to Regions Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The 38 and 31-year old parents of the child have been arrested on suspicion of 2nd degree manslaughter.
Police say they believe narcotics may have played a role in the child’s death. The investigation is ongoing.
