If you were fired up for the Steve Miller Band at the Minnesota State Fair grandstand this August - you can apparently blame Mother Nature for canceling the show.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has announced he's canceled all of his upcoming shows because it's "not safe to tour Earth" right now. Yes, the "Fly Like and Eagle" and "Jet Airliner" hitmaker says the risk of natural disasters is making touring less safe for the band, the crew and for fans.
"You make music with your instincts. You live your life by your instincts," said a social media post from the group.
"Always trust your instincts... The Steve Miller Band has cancelled all our upcoming tour dates," it continues. "The combination of extreme heat, unpredictable flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes and massive forest fires make these risks for you our audience, the band and the crew unacceptable. So...You can blame it on the weather... The tour is cancelled. Don't know where, don't know when... We hope to see you all again. Wishing you all Peace, Love and Happiness, Please take care of each other. Steve, The Band and Crew."
The Thursday, August 28 show at the Minnesota State Fair is now listed as "canceled" on the fair's website. They were going to perform with The Rascals and so far, there's no word on who will be a replacement for Miller but they're working on a new act.
The fair does note that if you have already have tickets and gate tickets, keep the gate tickets for other giveaways as you see fit.
"We are working to book someone else for that night of the grandstand and if/when anything is confirmed, we will let you know," said a statement from the Fair.
The Steve Miller Band was set to launch a 28-date U.S. tour on August 15 in Bethel, New York and running into November.
