US Surgeon General Jerome Adams is like everyone else on Friday morning.
"Quite the morning," he told Dave Lee on the WCCO Morning News. "I usually go to bed early, so I woke up this morning and Twitter was an absolute dumpster fire."
Adams said President Trump and the First Lady testing positive for the coronavirus heightens what he calls a truly "unnerving" time.
"It doesn't matter who you are, and I hope everyone sees that now, this virus can affect you, and will infect you," he said.
Adams pointed out that what the Trumps are now going through is isolation and not quarantine.
People who contract COVID-19 are put in isolation to keep the virus from spreading.
Quarantine is what happens to people who are exposed to the virus.
"I hope that we can just put the politics aside, that we can all just pray anyone and everyone that has COVID can heal," he said. "Including the president and the First Lady."
