There's been another tense situation between local police and an armed suspect in which gunfire was exchanged.

No one was hurt and Oakdale police were able to arrest the suspect, who had barricaded himself inside a home near Greystone Ave. before surrendering.

Oakdale police chief Nick Newton said tension was high at the scene considering the incident happened less than a month after the shooting deaths of three first responders in Burnsville.

"Very disheartening to see this happen to our police officers," said Newton.

Several local agencies were on the scene during the standoff.

No one was hurt, and everyone went back to their homes early Tuesday following a brief evacuation of the area.

Police responded to domestic call in which a man was arguing with a woman inside a moving car.

There was also a baby in the vehicle.

Police say after the car stopped the suspect ran toward a house and began firing a gun at officer, who fired back.

The suspect also reportedly fired at police from inside the home.
