
South St. Paul police arrested a suspect early Friday morning following a shooting that left one man dead and another man with life-threatening injuries.
Police were called at 3:45 a.m. to a residence in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue South for a "reported medical event" and discovered two adult males inside of the residence suffering from apparent gun shot wounds. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The suspect fled prior to police arriving prompting an extensive search of the area and a shelter in place order was issued for those living nearby. Police eventually arrested the individual without incident at 5:45 a.m. in the 500 block of 1st Avenue South.
So far, names of those involved have not been released and investigators haven't said what led to the shooting.
