St. Paul police say one of their officers shot a man early Saturday morning following a possible domestic violence call.
It happened just after midnight in an apartment building on the 400 block of Thomas Avenue West in the city's Frogtown neighborhood.
The man who was shot is expected to survive a gunshot wound to the arm.
No officers were hurt in the incident.
Police were reportedly responding to a 911 call from someone who said a woman was being physically and sexually assaulted by an armed man.
Officials with the SPPD say the shooting happened when the suspect charged out of an apartment at officers.
The woman was not hurt in the shooting, and the officers involved are on standard administrative leave.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating, which is policy for officer-involved shootings in Minnesota
