Minnesota seniors are having to make some tough choices after losing Medicare Advantage coverage.

Health Partners, Humana, United Healthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield are among the insurers that are discontinuing their plans.

Laurel Heppner sells Medicare plans with the Heppner Group.

"I Minnesota we got hit the worst, " says Heppner, " and for some people this is the second year in a row this has happened to them because, a lot of these people that are on these advantage plans were on UCare last year an Ucare pulled out of the state completely."

She says roughly 350,000 Minnesotans are trying to figure out what to do now, as Medicare plans are being cut.

"We've got people calling us crying, they are confused. They are leaning on us heavily saying like what should we do."

Heppner says seniors have the choice go back to the original plan, or get an advantage plan with an insurance company, but she has a specific recommendation.

"I would tell as many people as possible to go on a Medicare supplement, because this has been happening year after year after year and we don't see a whole lot of light at the end of the tunnel, but not everybody can afford it."

She says they offer help for free, and the state has a help line as well. People can start to enroll October 15th through December 7th.
