The Robbinsdale School board has voted to close three schools along with their Educational Service Center.
It's all an effort to find ways to close a $21 million shortfall in funding due in part to a massive accounting error.
Administrators say the closures will recover about eight million dollars, and are scheduled to happen before the end of 2026.
Meetings have been taking place for months regarding ways to save money.
While five schools were on the chopping block Monday night, the board voted to close only three, including Robbinsdale Middle School along with Noble and Sonnesyn Elementarys.
Many parents also turned out to try to prevent the closures.
The district owes the state an explanation of how they plan to dig out from their financial mess.
That plan is due late next month.
