Unionized Starbucks workers at 100 stores across the country, including a few in the Twin Cities, are participating in a work stoppage today protesting wages and against the fear of intimidation from union organizing.
The action comes a week before current CEO Howard Schultz is scheduled to answer questions before a Senate committee in Washington over allegations that the company spearheaded an illegal anti-union campaign at stores that were trying to organize.
Today's strike will take place at three Starbucks locations in St. Paul, St. Anthony and Minneapolis.
