The Target Field return of Twins Territory received yet another delay Wednesday when Major League Baseball announced the cancellation of more regular season games.
With 93 games now canceled after owners and players failed to reach an agreement during the latest round of negotiations, the MLB regular season is scheduled begin on April 14. For the Twins, their regular season begins at Fenway Park on April 15 against the Boston Red Sox.
“Because of the logistical realities of the calendar, another two series are being removed from the schedule, meaning that Opening Day is postponed until April 14th. We worked hard to reach an agreement and offered a fair deal with significant improvements for the players and our fans. I am saddened by this situation’s continued impact on our game and all those who are a part of it, especially our loyal fans," wrote Commissioner Rob Manfred.
Following the first round of game cancellations, the Twins were scheduled to host the rescheduled Opening Day on April 7 against the Seattle Mariners. Following that four game series, the Los Angeles Dodgers were schedule for two-games at Target Field on April 12 and 13.

The Twins first home game is now scheduled for April 22 against the Chicago White Sox.
In a message sent to Twins radio affiliates, team President and CEO Dave St. Peter says they're hopeful of a deal soon.
"Please know that we believe Minnesota Twins Baseball will be played in 2022, and we still feel it is possible to start soon. We remain confident there is a path to a fair deal between MLB and the Major League Baseball Players Association, and that our great game will ultimately be better for it.
When it is time to play ball, we will be ready. Ready to celebrate our fans and welcome new ones; ready to honor memories and create new magic moments; ready to partner with you to bring our community and region back together through the shared joy of Twins Baseball.
We will continue to provide updates as soon as they are available. My heartfelt thanks for your continued patience and support."
MLB has not made it clear whether or not they would attempt to reschedule any of the canceled games if a new collective bargaining agreements is reached.
