Two people are dead after an officer involved incident in Albert Lea Tuesday night.
The Freeborn County Sheriff's Office says it started with a domestic disturbance just after 7:00 p.m. at a home in rural Albert Lea.
When officers arrived, a male suspect fled in a vehicle which led to a chase. When the chase arrived back at the house the suspect got out, and officers fired at the man. EMS arrived to render aid to the suspect but he was declared dead at the scene.
Investigators say they then found a deceased woman on the property, who they believe died before officers arrived.
Neither the victim nor the suspect have been identified.
The Minnesota BCA is investigating and the involved officers are on critical incident leave, which is standard procedure.
