A man and a woman are in custody in the Ramsey County Jail and facing murder charges after a fatal shooting overnight.
Police spokesperson Mike Ernster says it happened about 1:45 Monday morning at a home in the 1300 block of Englewood, which is in the Hamline-Midway neighborhood.
Ernster says a woman called 911 to report intruder that was known to her. A man at the home got on the call reporting he had fired multiple shots at the intruder and that he was down.
"At this point, a second 911 call came in from the area of the home and the a male was heard saying that he was dying, and then didn't answer any further questions," says Ernster.
He says there's no threat to the public. Any charges would need to be filed within 36 hours. Ernster says it's too early to determine if it was a domestic violence.
