The Uptown Association has officially confirmed  the return of the Uptown Art Fair to its namesake neighborhood for the first full weekend of August, moving away from its temporary art fair location in south Minneapolis.

"We are going to be calling on some pretty big sponsors to come back and support Uptown and really make it the event that everybody wants it to be," Association President Andrea Corbin said. "We plan on getting people to the area, really activating the area, which I feel is really the job of the Uptown Association to begin with. So we're we're just thrilled."

After a two-year stint at Bachman’s South Minneapolis location the Uptown Association have confirmed the event is expected to feature up to 300 artist booths.

"It's really giving a lot of folks something to look forward to, and just a real light in all the chaos that we've been experiencing here in Minneapolis," says Corbin. "We're just thrilled to give some people an opportunity to come together as a community. "

The official dates for what was historically an extremely popular event for the city are August 7-9.

Organizers are now working with the Minneapolis Park Board to finalize a exact location, and are expected to be unveiled in a follow-up announcement this spring.
