A big concert announcement coming on the heels of a very big performance. Usher, the artist from Sunday night's Super Bowl halftime show is making Minnesota one of the upcoming stops on his "Past, Present and Future" tours.
Usher announced they're extending dates for his upcoming tour and Minneapolis is on the list. The eight-time Grammy award-winner will play Target Center on Saturday night, November 2.
“I was not exaggerating when I shared with the world that my performance would be a celebration of the past 30 years of my career," Usher said about the Super Bowl. "I will never forget the energy from the cast and crew, the fans in the stadium, the guest performers and the adrenaline from this monumental milestone in my career. I’m so happy everyone enjoyed it, my goal always is to bring people together and feel good through my music and performance.”
Across 13 minutes during the halftime show sponsored by Apple Music, Usher brought out a number of guests including H.E.R., Jermaine Dupri, Lil Jon (for “Turn Down for What,” which became “Yeah!” — and included a guest appearance from Ludacris).
Across three decades, the R&B superstar had an endless treasure trove of hits to pull from — and did so with costume changes, and a rolling performance of “OMG” while wearing roller skates — at one moment, sliding between will.i.am’s legs.
His album “Confessions” ranks among one of the best-selling music projects of all time and turned 20 this year; “Burn” became an easy performance highlight.
Usher’s ninth studio album COMING HOME was released on February 9.
Presale tickets for the "Past, Present and Future" tour are available starting this Tuesday for Citi cardholders, while general sales begin this Friday at 10:00 a.m. through Live Nation.
