Hundreds are stopping by the memorial outside of Renee Good’s house, the woman shot by an ICE agent Wednesday in Minneapolis.
They're also reacting to a new video posted by Alpha News that appears to contradict what the federal government has said happened leading up to her killing.
There is burning sage burns, people chanting, flowers, balloons, candles, and signs all line the boulevard outside Renee Good’s house where a makeshift memorial continues to grow.
The community coming out in droves, showing their support. WCCO's Ari Bergeron showed some of those people the Alpha News video now circulating across social media and news networks.
There responses varied, but most at the site still didn't think she should be dead.
"It looks like they were just trying to get away, very simple," said one woman.
"For me, it just seems like it didn't make any sense. If there if agents were in trouble, this is how I feel, that they all would shoot," said another.
This video and dozens of other videos continue to spark speculation and anger in the community.
"I'm always the type of person to play devil's advocate," said another mourner. "Let's say that was the case. The worst that could have happened to him in that moment was having his foot ran over, or worst case scenario, being knocked to the ground. That is never justification to murder an innocent person."
Even U.S. Vice President JD Vance chimed in, retweeting the video.
"Watch this, as hard as it is. Many of you have been told this law enforcement officer wasn't hit by a car, wasn't being harassed, and murdered an innocent woman," wrote Vance. "The reality is that his life was endangered and he fired in self defense."
Former Police Chief reacts to the new video
Former St. Cloud Police Chief Blair Anderson, talking to WCCO's Chad Hartman, says the video might add a little more clarity to what happened, but he's still not convinced this is a "case closed" situation.
"Now here we've got another video showing someone who clearly is antagonizing law enforcement," Anderson explains. "Now I say that with this caveat. As a U.S. citizen, you're allowed to antagonize us as long as you don't interfere, and I'm not suggesting that she was interfering necessarily, because I wasn't there."
Anderson added that this is just one video of many, and they all need to be looked at and investigated as a whole.
He also says there is one major point that is concerning, and that is the ICE officers on the scene leaving immediately after the shooting.
"They left the scene. That's very troubling to me, for an incident with this kind of gravity, and you're involved, you don't leave the scene," Anderson explains. "That's a different kind of hubris for me. I don't understand that at all."
The video also shows more of the actions of the officer who killed Good, getting in front of the vehicle and even walking around it. Anderson says those movements are unexplainable, and officers are - and should be - trained to never put themselves in that position.
"No, absolutely not. Not no, but hell no," Anderson added. That's just not smart, I'm sorry. You know there's something called the lug nut rule, and I'm not being flip about this, but whoever has the most lug nuts will win, right? A vehicle versus a pedestrian, you're not going to win that. And so no, that is not how we train. You don't step in front of a vehicle, especially one that is moving. That's just not smart, and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out. So this is messed up seven ways from Sunday."
