A week ago, he was among the biggest supporters of vice president Kamala Harris and her bid for the White House.
Now, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is preparing for his first solo campaign swing since joining the Democratic ticket as the running mate for Harris.
This comes after Walz accompanied the vice president on a trip to five swing states, a trip that started hours after the governor received "the call" from Harris.
This week's solo trip, called a "fundraising blitz" by the Harris campaign, begins Tuesday in Los Angeles, where Walz will address the AFSCME government workers union convention.
He'll follow that with a campaign reception in nearby Newport Beach before getting back on a plane Wednesday for a cross-country trip.
His stops on day two are at receptions in Denver and Boston.
On Thursday, Walz will speak at a reception in Newport, Rhode Island before winding things up later that day in Southampton, New York.
During his week one campaign swing with Harris, Walz drew wide acclaim for his enthusiasm during each appearance.
