The race has been called as Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has won his reelection bid in the state, taking down Republican opponent Dr. Scott Jensen, according to The Associated Press.
Walz and Jensen had a fiery campaign that saw the incumbent hold a strong lead against his Republican advisory throughout the months leading up to Election Day.
While voters favored Jensen in many categories over Walz, the governor held close to a 10-point lead in almost every poll.
There was some controversy over Walz being selective in his debates against Jensen, but when the two met, the fireworks went off.
Walz is now set to serve his second term as governor of Minnesota.
