Governor Walz is on the first leg of his trade mission to England and Finland.
The trip is focusing on increasing state exports and promoting Minnesota as a premier destination for business opportunities.
"We take our best and brightest," said the governor on WCCO's Sunday Take with Blois Olson. "We know that our state is as competitive as any in the country. In fact, moreso than most."
On Sunday, the governor stopped to visit Brookwood American Cemetery outside of London, where 27 soldiers and sailors from Minnesota are buried.
They were all killed during World War One I.
Walz laid a wreath at the site as part of England's Remembrance Sunday ceremonies.
