
Thursday could bring another round of record-setting heat to Minnesota, prompting the National Weather Service to issued Red Flag Warnings for several counties including Hennepin and Ramsey.
Thursday's forecast includes plenty of sunshine and a high of 88 according to the NWS Twin Cities.
Warm temperatures, which could threaten temperature records at the three NWS climate sites, combined with breezy southerly winds across southern Minnesota and portions of western Wisconsin will lead to an elevated fire weather risk.
Red Flag Warnings run from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and during that time people should avoid burning due to ideal wildfire conditions.
The 80 degree weather is expected to continue into Friday, with a high near 81.
Cooler weather returns this weekend. Temperatures on Saturday look to top out around 45 degrees with the low 50s expected on Sunday.
Of course, because it's Minnesota, rain, thunderstorms, and even a few snow flurries could be in the mix this weekend.
