The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is now investigating a police pursuit in St. Paul that happened early Sunday morning.

Authorities say it was about 4:00 a.m. when a man kicked in a door of home on the 900 block of Fremont Avenue and threatened people inside with a gun before shots were fired.

The man fled the scene and police began a pursuit onto Interstate 94 west to Minneapolis, where state patrol officers were able to stop the vehicle near Cedar Avenue.

Police say the man inside the car was found with life-threatening gunshot wounds and he was taken to HCMC.

Officials with the BCA say they are only investigating the chase, and not the break-in.
