Legal experts are weighing-in on a case against a St. Croix County, Wisconsin Assistant District Attorney who is charged with threatening judges.

33-year-old Alec Ballo is charged with threatening three judges, telling a coworker that the judges "needed to bleed" for decisions they'd made in cases he was involved in.

Ironically, the judge assigned to his case is one of the judges he threatened.

Hamline Law professor David Schultz says there's deficiently a conflict of interest and the case will be moved out of the county.

"You know, he's facing real serious charges at this point, of basically threatening judges on top of which, as an attorney, he will face a whole series of sanctions that could very well lead to him losing his law license and his ability to practice law," says Schultz. "So, he's facing a lot of trouble right now."

That conversation Ballo had where he allegedly made the treats was reported to police by one of his coworkers.

"You generally just do not see situations where you have, what we'll call them, officers of the court threatening judges," Schultz adds.

Ballo was also charged for THC possession and disorderly conduct. He's due in court April 16th.
