A woman is dead after a shooting in Brooklyn Center Sunday afternoon.
Officers were called to the 5400 block of 68th Avenue North near Vera Cruz Avenue around 1 p.m. and found a woman dead of an apparent gunshot wound. The circumstances that led up to the shooting are unknown but police believe it was not a random incident.
An adult male suspect is in custody in connection with the case. The man was located in St. Louis Park and was in possession of multiple firearms during his arrest.
The suspect is currently at the Brooklyn Center Police Department and will eventually be transported to the Hennepin County Jail. The investigation remains active.
