A Minnesota-based company known for its frozen food home delivery will close its doors by the end of the year.

Yelloh, formerly known as Schwan's home delivery, was founded in Marshall, Minnesota in 1952 and employs about 1,100 people nationwide, including 176 here in the state.

The company changed its name to Yelloh in 2022, but could not get around what they cite as lifestyle changes with their customers along with economic headwinds coming out of the pandemic.

Current customers will still be able to buy items from the trucks through November 8.

The food delivery company plans to be shut down entirely by the end of November.

Schwan's food can still be found in brick-and-mortar stores but that side of the business was sold to a Korean company in 2019 with the family retaining the home delivery side of the business. A company spokesman confirmed to WCCO Radio that Schwan’s Company and Yelloh are not affiliated in any way today.
