There's no baseball going on at Target Field, obviously, because it's mid-December.
There are also concerns there will be no baseball come the spring, with the owners' lockout showing no signs of being lifted.
But the home of the Twins for more than a decade is a pretty busy place these days.
The largest mobile refrigeration unit in the world, 53 feet in length, arrives Friday at the downtown Minneapolis ballpark.
It will create a 200-by-85-foot rink for the NHL Winter Classic.
The high-profile game takes place New Year's Day between the Wild and the St. Louis Blues.
The Winter Classic was first held in 2008, and this is the first time the Wild has played in the game.
The rink is going on top of the infield, which means chewing up the pitchers mound and all the grass and dirt.
Not that it makes any difference, the Twins were getting ready to replace the entire field in early 2022, at a cost of $250,000.
All this as the Twins and Minnesota Ballpark Authority announced that South Dakota-based Daktronics will build the stadium's new scoreboard.
It'll replace the current board and will be just as high but nearly twice as long, with improved technology to make images ever more clear than the board that's operating there since 2010.
It's the final phase of a $29.5 million upgrade at Target Field.
The first phase was rebuilding the stadium's scoreboard control rooms.
The cost of the project is split between the Twins and the Minnesota Ballpark Authority.
The new scoreboard is expected to be online for the 2023 season.
